George Clooney (born George Timothy Clooney on May 6, 1961) is an American actor, director, producer, and philanthropist, best known for his roles in Ocean’s Eleven, Michael Clayton, and Up in the Air.
Clooney gained fame in the 1990s with his role as Dr. Doug Ross on the medical drama ER. He transitioned to Hollywood stardom with hits like Ocean’s Eleven (2001) and its sequels. His performances in Syriana (2005) and The Descendants (2011) earned him critical acclaim, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. As a filmmaker, he has directed and produced films such as Good Night, and Good Luck (2005) and The Ides of March (2011).
Beyond Hollywood, Clooney is a dedicated humanitarian and activist, co-founding the Not On Our Watch project to combat human rights violations. He is also known for his work with the United Nations and his advocacy for refugees and global crisis relief.
